11/2009 – 12/2010 Structural safety reanalysis and seismic qualification of the South-Ukraine Nuclear Power Plant units 1&2, Rivne Nuclear Power Plant units 1&2 (Each unit sized approx. 185000 cu. m, and involved numerous minor structures)
This large-scale structural reanalysis task included structural/stress analysis and durability calculations of four major nuclear industry facilities, and was quite an accomplishment for the Ukraine’s energy sector. Performed as Project Engineer and Chief Safety Analyst. Delivered structural calculations, FEA and safety studies, lead field operations involving security clearance and radiation safety, developed structural reliability reports, and presented my team and its work at collaborative meetings with the clients and the regulation authorities.
02/2008 – 12/2009 Safety analysis, seismic qualification and rehabilitation design of 4 public hospitals sizing 20000 sqm each and accounting for over 8 millions USD in structural rehabilitation investments. Appointed as Principal Structural Engineer on this project.
11/2007 – 02/2008 Industrial building rehabilitation project made for Erlan Co., a leading Ukrainian beverage/foods producer
A goal was set to retrofit an existing weathered brickwork structure to accommodate a fully equipped product storage area. The implementation included preliminary field inspection, structural condition assessment, design, detailing, and production supervision of steel roof trusses and other steelwork, concrete foundations, indoor ramps and concrete retaining walls. Total retrofit area 25000 sqm.
Managerial skills were tested by checking subcontractor’s designs, participation with the client’s architect, and making the team members meet strict deadlines.
The project site was located abroad and much of the work was done remotely.

Appointed as consultant engineer to report expert opinion on the case of steel pallet rack collapse due to overloading. Being in charge of 2 junior technicians, performed initial inspection, coordinated work on the expertise report, performed stress analysis of the rack structure, and participated in face-to-face negotiations with the rack vendor.
